AFMC (Armed forces medical College) is a premier medical institute of
India. AFMC has the distinction of being the first medical college set
up by the Armed Forces of any country in Asia. This college provides
under graduate and post graduate medical and nursing courses with
assured career prospects in defense services.
The time of India recently published an article on AFMC which clearly
stated that AFMC exam would be part of history and here’s the statement:
"We are now merging with the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for
undergraduate courses (NEET-UG), which has been finalized by the Medical
Council of India and will be conducted by the Central Board of
Secondary Education from 2013 onward," This statement came from Gen H L
Kakria, Director General, Armed Forces Medical Services.
AFMC conducts AFMC Exam for admission to various courses offered by the
institute. An Indian citizen between the age 18 and 22, who has passed
10+2 or qualifying examination(Physics, Chemistry, Biology) with not
less than 60% in aggregate marks is eligible to appear for examination it offers 130 medical seats (105 boys & 25 girls). The
Exam is conducted at various examinations centers and candidates can
choose their examination center.
