Some important tips for candidates appearing for AFMC exam:





1)   Please read the eligibility criteria in detail before applying for the exam. There are certain documents which need to be submitted during admission, so make sure you have all the documents ready.
2)   AFMC exam is highly competitive, there are thousands of students applying every year and only a hand few get selected. This examination demands very good preparation.
3)   Candidates need to answer 200 questions in just 2 hours and this is a difficult task as well. Time management is very necessary and this can come only with good practice.
4)   Intelligence and logic reasoning is a compulsory section in AFMC examination. This section is not like the other sections where you have the study material and you prepare. This section needs good understanding and logical reasoning skills.
5)   Selecting the right study material is very necessary. It is preferable if you could take guidance from your teachers and then purchase the book necessary for preparation.

What is Armed forces medical College (AFMC)?




AFMC (Armed forces medical College) is a premier medical institute of India. AFMC has the distinction of being the first medical college set up by the Armed Forces of any country in Asia.  This college provides under graduate and post graduate medical and nursing courses with assured career prospects in defense services.

The time of India recently published an article on AFMC which clearly stated that AFMC exam would be part of history and here’s the statement:

"We are now merging with the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for undergraduate courses (NEET-UG), which has been finalized by the Medical Council of India and will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education from 2013 onward,"  This statement came from Gen H L Kakria, Director General, Armed Forces Medical Services.

AFMC conducts AFMC Exam for admission to various courses offered by the institute. An Indian citizen between the age 18 and 22, who has passed 10+2 or qualifying examination(Physics, Chemistry, Biology) with not less than 60% in aggregate marks is eligible to appear for examination it offers 130 medical seats (105 boys & 25 girls). The Exam is conducted at various examinations centers and candidates can choose their examination center.
