CDS or the “Combined
Defence Services” is conducted by the Union Defence Service Commission for recruitment
into the Indian Military Academy, Air force Academy, Officer’s training academy
and Naval Academy. CDS (combined Defence Service) is conducted twice a year and
the UPSC organizes the test. CDS exam is one of the most challenging
examinations in India. CDS is gateway to the Indian defence force.
CDS exam comprises of a written test
followed by CDS interview for intelligence and personality test. There is a
written examination
English- 2 hours and 100 maximum marks
General Knowledge –
2 hours and 100 maximum marks
Elementary
Mathematics – 2 hours and 100 maximum marks
Admission to the officer’s training
academy includes two subject tests. The UPSC have discretion to fix qualifying
marks in any or all the subjects of the Combined Defence Service examination.
