FCI Application Form

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) brings out the notice for Combined Recruitment for Assistant Grade III in General, Depot, Technical and Account Cadres in the month of August. The posts are located in five zones of FCI – North, South, East, West and North East – with pay scale of Rs 9,300 to Rs 22,940. FCI Syllabus

Detailed Syllabus for various subjects of the written examination is as follows:
Paper I

Quantitative Aptitude: The questions are such which test the ability of candidates to aptly use numbers. The scope of the test will be computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions & relationships between numbers, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture & Alligation, Time & Distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra & Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle & its various kinds of centres, Congruence & similarity of triangles, Circle & its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, Degree & Radian Measures, Standard Identities, Complementary angles, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart.
English Language: The questions are to test the comprehension and writing abilities of the candidate.                    
Paper II

English Language & Comprehension: Questions in this component will be designed to test the candidates’ understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based on spot the errors, fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, spelling / detecting misspelt words, idioms & phrases, one word substitution, improvement of sentences, active / passive voice of verbs, conversion into direct/indirect narration, shuffling of sentence parts, shuffling of sentences in a passage, close passage & comprehension passage.
Paper III
The question paper will consist of questions from – Botany, Zoology, Bio-technology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Food Science and Technology, Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering of Graduation Level.

FCI Exam 

The exam for the recruitment of this one of the largest PSUs, FCI is conducted on all India level with aspirants from all parts of India. This proves the amount of competition you will have to face, and the kind of preparation you have to do in order to convert the examination. The selection process will comprise of a Written Examination followed by Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) for General, Depot, Accounts and Technical Cadres. CPT will be the qualifying exam.
The examination will consist of two papers for General, Depot and Accounts Cadres. Candidates applying for Technical Cadre will appear in Paper-I and Paper-III. The examination in paper III will be of degree level. Paper I and II will be of Higher Secondary Level.
For General, Depot, Accounts and Technical Cadres a Computer Proficiency Test with components of Word Processing and Excel will also be held for candidates shortlisted on the basis of Paper-I and Paper-II/ Paper-III.

Final selection will be on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in Paper I and II (200 marks each) for General, Depot and Accounts Cadres and will be on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in Paper I and III (200 marks each) for Technical Cadre.

FCI Results

Staff Selection Commission announces the result of Paper-I in the month of January. The written exam is held in November. The candidates who qualify in Paper-I are eligible to appear for Paper-II and Paper- III. The Paper-II/Paper- III are held in February. Indian Defence Entrance Exams 2013




Defence jobs are the most admired jobs, and working in defence is a dream of many young people. Eligibility Criteria for Defence Entrance Exams

All defence training institutes have different eligibility conditions for Defence Entrance Exams. The eligibility conditions are mentioned below.
Indian Military Academy (IMA)
Aspirants for Indian Military Academy must be between 19 to 24 years of age. Candidates having a degree from a recognized university or equivalent are eligible to apply. Applicants should be of good Physical and Mental Health.
Naval Academy
Aspirants willing to join Naval Academy must possess a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with Physics and Mathematics, or a Bachelor's degree in engineering (BE). Candidates must be between 19 to 22 years of age.
Air Force Academy
Candidates must be between 19 to 23 years of age. Applicants must have either Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with Physics and Mathematics, or a Bachelor's degree in engineering (BE).
Officers Training Academy (OTA)
Candidates must acquire a bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized university or equivalent. The candidates must be between 19 to 25 years of age.

Defence Entrance Exams Pattern

The defence entrance exam for Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy includes subjects like English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics. It consists of objective type questions wherein, each subject carries 100 marks and the exam is to be completed in 2 hours.
The defence entrance exam for Officer Training Academy (OTA) includes only English and General Knowledge. It consists of objective type questions wherein, each subject carries 100 marks and the exam is to be completed in 2 hours.

CAT 2012 Results Announced | Latest Updates


CAT 2012 Results

CAT results are announced in the month of January. Besides IIMs, there are other 145 institutes across India that considers the score of CAT for selection of candidates for admission to different programs.
The much awaited CAT 2012 results were declared on Jan 9, 2013 (Wednesday). Over 2 lakh candidates registered for the test, wherein only 1.90 lakh students had appeared for the test aspiring to get admission to the Indian Institutes of Management and other top B-schools. The test was conducted in 61 test centres across 36 cities over a 21-day from October 11 to November 6.
The applicants can check their CAT results on the official website: www.catiim.in. Candidates can access their result by registering with their email id and registration number. IIM, Kozhikode and test-conducting agency Prometric partnered for the CAT 2012.

Indian Engineering Services 2012



Indian Engineering Services (IES) 2012 are the civil services that meet the technical and managerial roles of the Government of India. Like most countries, the Government of India recruits its civil servants and officials on the basis of merit, the middle management positions in the bureaucracy are filled through competitive exams. Candidates from all over India take these exams and compete for limited seats. IES officers are selected by the union government on the basis of preferences made by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). For recruitment to Indian Engineering Services, UPSC conducts a combined four-stage competitive examination called the Engineering Services Examination (ESE). IES remains the most sought after careers for the engineering graduates in India.

The recruitment is done for three categories: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. Indian Engineering Services Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for Engineering Services Exam should have an engineering degree from a recognised institute, final year students are also eligible. Also candidates with MSc Degree or equivalent in Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering will be eligible for certain posts only.
A candidate should be more than 21 years and less than 30 years of age. There are relaxations up to 5 years in age limit for various reserved categories. A candidate should be medically and physically fit according to the specified requirements.

What is IIFT 
The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up in 1963 by the Government of India as an autonomous organisation to help professionalise the country's foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources; generating, analysing and disseminating data; and conducting research. The Institute’s caters to the requirements of aspiring International Business executives and mid-career professionals alike. IIFT Exam
Each question in the IIFT exam has four options and the extent of the negative marking was 1/3rd of the marks allotted to the question. The duration of the exam is 2 hours. The sections are quantitative ability, reading comprehension, English usage, data interpretation, logical reasoning and general awareness.
The questions in verbal and reading comprehension are like fill in the blanks, phrasing, analogy, antonyms, Para-jumble and word usage. The questions in data interpretation are on puzzles, symbols notation, deductions, decision making and input-output. The questions in general awareness are from the areas like sports, literature, general awareness, geography, economics, current affairs, awards and science.

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) declares the list of candidates who are shortlisted for the Essay Writing, Group Discussion and Interview rounds, for admission to the MBA programme, in the month of January. Candidates can check their results from the website: http://www.iift.edu/new/.
There are total 281 seats for which IIFT shortlists around 1100 candidates to appear for the second round of the admissions process. This total of 281 seats combines seats of both campuses of IIFT– Delhi and Kolkata.

IELTS Scores

IELTS Exam
You can choose between the Academic and General Training versions of the test. All candidates have to appear for the same listening and speaking sections. But the reading and writing sections are different.

Objective Test of English Language: 50 Marks

As far as education qualifications are concerned, aspirants who have passed 10+2/ 12th class with 60% marks are eligible to apply. However for the reserved categories, 55% marks are necessary.
Or aspirants with graduation in any discipline with pass marks are eligible to apply for SBI clerical exam.
